I work with stoneware, earthenware, raku and porcelain to create my pottery. Each type of clay has its own special characteristics and I‘m fascinated with how they respond to my touch and I must adapt to their unique properties in order to make a piece of art. I enjoy experimenting with shapes and surfaces throughout the whole process of throwing, trimming, carving, glazing and firing.

My pottery is decorative and functional and I’m inspired by textures and patterns.  Most of my pieces are altered, manipulated and carved or incised using a variety of techniques such as chattering, slip trailing and sgraffito.

My studio is in Brooklyn, NY and I resumed “playing” with clay a few years ago after a very long hiatus and quickly became immersed in it. It is an ongoing learning process and I enjoy sharing my experience and knowledge with other potters.
